Rev. Blake Spencer, Pastor
The Rev. Wm. Blake Spencer is a native of Texas and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin. He received his Master of Divinity in 1986 from the Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. Pastor Spencer was ordained in 1988 and has served three other churches prior to coming to Richardson.

Ralph Stannard, Director of Music
Ralph Stannard, a second generation Dallasite, has been Director of Music since 1998. He has a bachelor degree in music theory and composition from the University of Texas and a Masters of Music degree in instrumental education from the University of North Texas. He studied voice pedagogy with Grant Williams and choral conducting with Frank McKinley and Henry Gibbons. Ralph is also the choir director at Temple Emanu-El in Dallas and is the artistic director and conductor of the Plano Civic Chorus. A lyric baritone soloist, Ralph performs for numerous oratorios and masterworks throughout the Dallas metroplex.

Shirley Latham, Organist
Shirley Grubbs Latham has been the organist at First Presbyterian Church since 1975. Shirley is a native Texan who grew up and graduated from high school in Henderson. She earned both a Bachelor of Music and a Master of Music degree from the University of North Texas. At FPC, Shirley serves a member of the Worship Ministry, the Wednesday Morning Prayer Group and the Sew and Sew Group.

Becky Lormor, Handbell Director
Since 1988, Becky Lormor has directed the Ruth Greer Handbell Choir for adults, and periodic handbell activities for children and youth. As a board member of the Greater Dallas Handbell Association, she has chaired events for ringers and directors. Becky earned a Bachelor of Music Education degree at the University of Evansville, Indiana. She and her husband, Gene, have two sons.

Harriet Turnbull, Children's Choir Director
Harriet Turnbull is a graduate of Rhodes College and the University of Memphis. She has degrees in International Studies and Music Education. She teaches elementary music in the Plano ISD, is certified in Orff Schulwerk, and is completing her Third Year of Kodaly training. Harriet is a lifetime Presbyterian who grew up in Mobile, AL. “My earliest memories of church are sitting on the front row pew with my brother while my parents sang in the choir. It was always something I wanted to do, sing with the choir. I have always been inspired by the music.”

Mary Owens, Child Care Coordinator
Mary’s roots at FPC run deep for she grew up in Richardson. She has a wonderful husband and two beautiful, active daughters. When she is not at soccer games or dance competitions with her daughters, Mary works as a legal secretary. She loves going to baseball games, playing Bunco, being active in her children's schools, and watching reruns of 60s/70s sitcoms. As Nursery Coordinator, Mary can’t get enough of the littlest members of our church. She especially loves to see old friends come back and bring their children. Mary believes that God works through even the youngest children and if we listen and observe, we can learn much from them.

Brenda Swindle, Staff Secretary
Brenda is a native Texan who grew up in Arlington and attended UTA. She brings life and career experience to her job where she publishes worship bulletins and booklets for special events in addition to her general secretarial duties. Brenda is active with The Ruth Greer Handbell Choir, The Sanctuary Choir, Brookhaven Handbell Ensemble, and Texas Mothers of Multiples Organization. She also enjoys activities with her husband and their three teenagers.

Bill Yeager, Office Assistant
Bill Yeager graduated from the University of North Texas and worked in Purchasing for more than 30 years for the City of Richardson and the telecommunications industry. Bill and his wife Linda have been members of FPC since 1964 and have two grown children. He has served the church in many roles including Elder, Teacher,3 Pastor Nominating Committees and numerous mission and outreach activities.
