Phase Two: Conduct a Broad Search
Broadly communicate position and begin networking:.
Develop screening processes.
Receive resumes.
Evaluate candidates’ Pastor Information Forms (PIF).
Conduct telephone interviews with qualified applicants.
Make preliminary visits to candidate location.
Narrow list to finalists.
Phase One: Setting Up the Organization
Congregation elects Pastor Nominating Committee (PNC).
Assign roles and responsibilities of PNC members.
Meet with the Presbytery Committee on Ministry (COM) representative.
Develop the Church Information Form (CIF).
Obtain Session and Presbytery approval of the CIF.
Enter CIF into Presbyterian (U.S.A.) Web site.
Establish processes to receive, review and respond to interested applicants.
